After reading an article about Joe Biden and the work that he’s been doing regarding US-international relations, I have more confidence in him and the direction that the current administration is taking to improve those relations. Today, while having lunch, I turned on the television and caught a Daily Show episode that had an interview with Joe Biden. The interview was conducted on November 17, 2009.

25 Nov 2009 Where the heck is Biden?

I was talking to a friend yesterday about US politics at an OSU game and the current administration came up. Like many of you, we thought that the US was spending far more time on international affairs than domestic affairs. International affairs is important and was one of the reasons why I voted Obama over McCain, but there are problems at home that- damnit- there shouldn’t be. I understand that international issues are complicated, as well as domestic ones, and have learned long ago that presidents and those in higher power have more information than the average person, affecting their decisions. That just leaves me with the only option I have: to think about it and try to learn.

Then we wondered, “Where the heck is Biden?” and questioned Obama’s selection of the man. From the lack of seeing or hearing about him in the news, I chalked up the VP selection as one to generate votes.

Today, however, I was reading the nytimes website and on the front page was an article about Biden and what he’s been up to. Imagine that. It’s 8 web pages long, but the first page, alone, is worth reading if you want to get a grasp of who Biden is and what he’s been up to since getting into office with Obama. I’m pretty curious.

Apparently, I misjudged. Which means, that I fell for the media trap. That’s a whole other conversation, which I’ve already had with many of you. Who was I talking to about media, journalism and generating money to support investigative and in-depth reporting? I forget. But it was one of you.

I thought it was a good read and should be passed along. Here is the link.
