How many people get to say they’ve been to another country? How many can say they’ve been to China? How many have seen the construction in Beijing in preparation for the 2008 Summer Olympics? ‘Climbed the Great Wall of China? ‘Explored Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, the gardens of Suzhou? ‘Had the chance to meet with officials and researchers to discuss economic and agricultural developments throughout China and in the Tibetan highlands? ‘Interact with students from a number of universities, exchange contact information, and read e-mails from them weeks after you’ve returned home? ‘Lose yourself in the streets and intricate alleys of Lanzhou sharing the road with trucks, crowds, merchants selling fish, plants, vegetables, meats, frogs, fabrics, flowers and at the end of the trail you find yourself staring at an enclosed park with kids floating inside giant air bubbles on the water? A secret nearly all residents share, and few visitors stumble upon. And you can’t forget Shanghai. You have to experience it to truly appreciate it.

This page is dedicated to getting you started. It is a collection of all the important e-mails sent by our Professor and Trip Coordinator, Dr. Shida Henneberry.
