Before enrolling in the Ag Econ China Study Abroad course, I had some questions for Dr. Henneberry. Below are her answers to those questions which may be helpful for any of you thinking about joining her summer trip.

Q: Is May 7th the day that we arrive in China or is it the day we leave for China from the U.S.?
A: Until we buy our tickets, this is not for sure. We are planning on leaving on Monday, May 7 and will arrive in China May 8. Last year, some students were on different flights and arrived before or after us. That would be no problem, as I will give you the exact directions to the hotel to take a taxi or I will send a driver to pick you up if you arrive after us. We are waiting for the specials on tickets and I am working with a consolidator ticket agency that specializes in China. Last year, they gave us a wonderful deal.
Q: Can I stay in China after the course if I make my own arrangements?
A: Of course, you can stay in China after the course is over. Our course starts in Beijing and ends in Shanghai. If a student would like to stay longer, that would be no problem. One of our students went to Korea after the trip. I am planning to stay longer to go to Hong Kong for business.
Q: Will the charges be made to my Bursar account or is this separate?
A: I am very flexible on the charges. You will choose how you would like to pay for it. It can be charged entirely or partly to your Bursar’s account.
Q: What are the dates for the four orientation lectures?
A: After you sign up, I will add you to my e-mail list and I will send everyone an e-mail to see when it would work best. Last year, we met one day a week for a few weeks, during the evening: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM. We have not set that up yet, as I am waiting to complete enrollment and make sure that I know how many people will be going.
