Dear China/Tibet Participants: Please see the latest tentative (subject to change) itinerary. Although I do not foresee any major changes, as of now I have not heard about the approval of our Tibet permission or the train tickets to Lhasa.

See you in class on Monday and I look forward to your power point presentations and to a great trip.

Students (China Trip),

I have almost everything I need from you. Two things missing. I need them today. Either scan and email or bring me 3 copies of your Visa. I also need your cell phone numbers.

I need it all today (Thursday). I will not be here tomorrow (Friday). Thank you all.

  1. 3 copies of your Visa or scan and email one to me.
  2. Your cell phone numbers if you have one.

These two things are very important before you leave for your trip. The Dean’s office must have these documents.

Have a fun trip.

31 May 2007 Luggage Weight Limits

I called our guide in China and the following message gives the weight limits for internal flights. As you see, the, the internal flights have a lower weight limit. And, I remember that also each passenger was limited to one luggage to be checked in addition to a carry on. Please know that the limits are in Kilograms. Please see United Airlines website for their luggage weight and size limits.

Regarding to the weight limit, I have checked that it is 25-32kg. for the Chinese international flight and 20kg. for domestic flight. Please inform the students not to exceed the weight limit for the flight. This translates into 44 pounds for internal flights and to 55 to 70 pounds for international flights.

The below includes information from United Airlines website which was forwarded to me by Aimee.

The motor pool is located on hall of fame and farm road, across from the vet clinic, very close to the school of veterinary medicine. Ag Hall, where my office is located at is also located on Farm Road, so is the OSU Police Department and the Parking lot of the Colvin Center. The Motor Pool is towards the West from the Tennis Courts, on the North West Corner where Farm Road meets Hall of Fame.

Hang onI rented the van for the comfort of participants and assurance that everyone who wishes to have a ride would have a spot. I had assumed that all that signed up for the ride will come on the van; otherwise we would not have needed to rent a van. The following have already signed up to come on the van: Lora, Gavin, Askari and Jeff. If any of you for any reason have changed your mind about needing a ride, please let me know as soon as possible.

Copy from my previous e-mail:

We will meet on Monday at 3:00 am by the OSU motor pool on hall of fame and farm road, across from the vet clinic, and plan to leave at 3:05. Our flight’s departure time is at 6:00 am and for international flights (Tulsa is where we check our luggage to Beijing) it is required that we be at the airport two hours prior to departure time. Please do not be late.
